My grand-daughter lives in a 3rd world country where temperatures get as low as -40 during the day w/o a windchill.She's only 18 mo. so I don't think she'll be out that long to need a boot that warm but she loves the way it looks. My son, who worked for REI in the shoe/boot dept. while in college, was impressed with how well the boots are made for kids. He's picky about all winter clothing...If he's happy, you should be happy.
