Product Description
New for spring, this awesome Monkees t-shirt features Davy, Peter, Mike and Mickey doing what they do best - 'monkeying around'.Davy Jones is swinging upside down in a trapeze while Mickey Dolenz plays drums, and Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork play guitar.Blue-toned image is splashed on a yellow background on a red t-shirt, with the white Monkees signature guitar logo above.Great colors for spring, your littlest monkee fan will love it. Known for hits like Last Train To Clarksville, I'm A Believer, and featured on an episode of that other 60's iconic TV show The Brady Bunch. What began as a group of actors/musicians portraying a musical group for a TV series, eventually became a bonafide musical sensation. Jimi Hendrix was the opening act for their 67 summer tour! On their TV show, The Monkees used techniques rarely seen before, including characters breaking the fourth wall (talking to the camera or even to off-camera staff), fantasy sequences, and abrupt inserts and jump cuts. Episodes featured a musical vignette - short, self-contained films of songs which in retrospect, were the birth of the music video, before M-TV was even invented. A ground-breaking group, often compared to the Beatles. Monkee hysteria was on a par with Beatlemania, dubbed Monkeemania. Like the fab-four, the Monkees were called the 'pre-fab four' to connote their fabricated beginnings on TV. Their music is as popular today as ever, 'I'm A Believer' was covered by the group Smashmouth for the Shrek film, bringing the Monkees music to a new generation. The group members continued to tour into 2002. Pay tribute to this iconic musical group, a symbol of 60's psychedelic rock and all that is wacky and wild. 100% pre-shrunk cotton, super soft and comfortable.
