I've been a Toschi fan for years now and have a half dozen pairs of Toschi shoes and recently picked up a pair of the classic G1s and a pair of the G2 wingtips. They are very similar in construction and design quality to the other Toschi shoes I have worn. Namely, they are expertly crafted with the perfect marriage of old-world Italian craftsmanship and modern technology. After break-in, they fit like your favorite pair of high quality dress shoes, because the uppers are basically are a high-quality dress shoe upper. Once you've played 18 holes standing on the carbon fiber insole system, you'll be further convinced that the quality is worth the price. The lack of spikes is not an issue as the specially-designed outsole actually seems more stable and comfortable than spikes. The shoe stays put but moves when it should through the follow-through with much more ease than spikes. Plus, the lack of spikes coupled with the great looks means you can pass these off as your favorite Italian dress shoes whenever you need-in the clubhouse, at lunch, a meeting before/after playing, etc. Of course, you'll have to resist too much off-course use if you want to spare the soles the wear. The super-high quality leathers clean very easily with some saddle soap and have never gotten my feet wet even through some downpours (I have treated them with mink oil prior to use, although I think they would perform pretty well either way).
